IPL PhotoFacial Las Vegas

Are you looking for a way to treat your uneven or sun-damaged skin? An Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) photofacial can improve pigmentation and skin tone concerns. The powerful light targets pigments without harming skin to leave skin brighter and more even-toned.

WHAT IS IPL TREATMENT?

Dr. Stile and his team perform IPL treatment at Stile Aesthetics in Las Vegas. An IPL photofacial can improve uneven skin tone, redness from rosacea, freckles, and sun damage. The light energy targets pigments to remove them and leave your skin smoother and clearer.

HOW DOES AN IPL PHOTOFACIAL WORK?

IPL uses more wavelengths than a laser to target more types of pigmentation problems. Its pulses of light energy enter the skin and transfer their energy to pigment molecules. The resulting heat breaks apart the pigment molecules so the body can remove them.

HOW MANY IPL TREATMENTS DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?

A series of IPL treatments will ensure that you achieve the best possible results. Most people need three to five treatments three weeks apart. You will start to see improvements within a week after your first treatment. Your body will clear away the broken pigments, leaving clear skin behind.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR AN IPL PHOTOFACIAL?

You can take several steps to make sure you get the best results from your IPL photofacial. Because IPL uses wavelengths of light that target pigments, you will want to avoid anything that might decrease the contrast between your skin and pigments. Dr. Stile recommends:

  • Avoid sun exposure or tanning
  • Do not wax anywhere on your face
  • Do not use chemical peels or other treatments that make skin sensitive
  • Avoid medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen that cause blood thinning
  • Stop using potentially irritating products like alpha or beta hydroxy acids or retinol

WHAT IS AN IPL PHOTOFACIAL LIKE?

An IPL treatment lasts about 30 minutes. Your provider will move the handheld wand over your skin while it emits intensive pulses of light. Many people report that each pulse feels like a rubber band snapped on the skin.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR IPL TREATMENT?

Since IPL is a non-invasive treatment, it is safe and effective for most people. If you want a solution to sun-damaged skin, rosacea, or hyperpigmentation, you may be a good candidate. Discuss this during your consultation if you have active acne breakouts or eczema.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME WITH AN IPL PHOTOFACIAL?

You can resume regular activities after treatment. You will have some redness, sensitivity, and minor swelling. These can last a few days, and during this time, you should avoid any harsh products so the skin can heal. You will need to wear sunscreen consistently during your healing and beyond to protect your results and keep your pigmentation issues from returning.
