WHAT HAPPENS DURING BREAST AUGMENTATION

During a breast augmentation procedure, you can expect Dr. Stile to choose saline or silicone implants. Your unique goals and preferences will dictate which implants he uses to perform your surgery. Once he places them, he’ll use sutures to close the incision and apply gauze over the breasts to support healing. In most cases, breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia and takes about an hour to complete.

THE BREAST AUGMENTATION RECOVERY

Right after breast augmentation, you’ll probably feel a bit tired and sore for at least a few days. Dr. Stile will encourage you to stay away from heavy lifting and intense physical activity for the first few weeks after surgery. Depending on your job, you’ll likely be able to return to work in 10 to 14 days.

If your job requires physical labor, you may have to spend a bit more time away from it. Dr. Stile will provide a complete recovery plan after your procedure. Most patients report that the results of breast augmentation make the recovery well worth it.

GOOD CANDIDATES FOR BREAST AUGMENTATION

If you’re in reasonably good health and wish to enhance the size and shape of your breastsbreast augmentation may be the way to go. Dr. Stile often suggests this surgery to women who are displeased with small breasts or lacking volume due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, or the natural process of aging. If you’re currently pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active infection, or are unrealistic about the results, breast augmentation is not a good option.
