What to Wear After Breast Augmentation

HOW DOES BREAST AUGMENTATION WORK?

Dr. Stile uses silicone gel (“gummy bear”) or saline-filled implants to achieve your desired results. Both types of implants have advantages, and Dr. Stile will review these with you during your consultation. 

He performs the procedure using an incision around the areola or in the fold underneath the breast. Dr. Stile usually uses a dual-plane method of implant placement that puts the implant partly above and partly below the muscle for results that look and feel natural. 

WHAT TO WEAR AFTER BREAST AUGMENTATION

You will feel sore and swollen for the first few days after your breast augmentation, and you will not be able to lift your arms. You should ensure you have loose-fitting, comfortable shirts made of soft material. Ideal shirts zip or button up the front so you can easily put them on and take them off. 

Dr. Stile recommends taking two weeks off work to give yourself time to recover. You can resume most normal activities at this point, but strenuous activities or exercise should wait for four weeks. You will need to sleep on your back or side for at least a month to protect your implants.  

HOW MUCH DOES BREAST AUGMENTATION COST?

Breast augmentation costs vary depending on several factors, including:

• Your surgeon’s skill and experience
• The cost of living in your location
• The complexity of your procedure
• The type of implant used

Dr. Stile’s price for saline implant augmentation starts at $5,500, and silicone implants start at $6,500. Other factors will impact the overall cost, so we recommend a consultation to obtain an accurate estimate.

WHAT RESULTS WILL I SEE WITH BREAST AUGMENTATION?

You will notice a difference in your breasts immediately after surgery. However, your breasts will still look swollen, which can take several weeks to subside. 

Full results will take six months to a year to develop. During this time, residual swelling fades, and your implants settle into their final location. With Dr. Stile’s skill and technique, your results will look natural and still feel like your own breasts.

Good candidates for breast augmentation want to improve the appearance of their breasts. Ideal candidates are in good health and have reasonable expectations. Breast augmentation is not right for everyone, including women who are pregnant or have certain medical conditions.
