Facelift Las Vegas & Spring Valley

Loss of facial fat and collagen can lead to sagging skin, and some of the most common signs of aging appear around the middle and lower face. If you want to undo these signs and restore smoother, more youthful skin, a facelift may be the ideal solution. This procedure corrects skin laxity and erases wrinkles for a rejuvenated look. Dr. Stile focuses on natural-looking results that enhance your unique features.

What is a Facelift (Rhytidectomy)?

Rhytidectomy is the medical name for a facelift, a procedure performed to lift and restore the middle and lower parts of your face. During this procedure, Dr. Stile uses small incisions around the ears to lift skin and reposition the deep facial tissues as well as the skin to provide a naturally refreshed appearance. He may also use fat transfer to restore your lost facial volume in targeted areas Concerns typically addressed with a facelift include:

  • Lines and wrinkles
  • Jowls
  • Marionette lines and nasolabial folds
  • Loss of volume

Individuals with concerns in these areas often can also benefit from a neck lift.

What to Expect After a Facelift

Each person’s body heals differently, so you may need more or less time than someone else to return to your usual activities. However, most people experience the same general timeline in their recovery and as their results evolve.

Recovery

You can expect some swelling and discomfort after your rhytidectomy. These effects will improve significantly within the first week. You will receive pain medication as needed for the first few days, and you will have a support garment to wear for two to four weeks. Most people can return to work after about two weeks and resume more strenuous activities after four weeks.

Results

Swelling after a facelift begins to resolve after the first week or two, but residual swelling can take six months to a year to fade completely. While you will usually feel confident and happy with your results within a few weeks, they will continue to improve over time

Facelift results are long-lasting, effectively undoing age-related changes. However, these changes will gradually continue. While you will show signs of aging over time, you will continue to look more youthful than you would have without the rhytidectomy. Your results will last longer if you wear sunscreen every day, avoid excessive sun exposure, and use medical-grade skincare products.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Facelift?

A facelift may be recommended for you if you are in good health, have realistic expectations, and want to address signs of aging, such as lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity. Good candidates range in age from their 40s to their 60s and beyond. Candidates for a facelift can be men or women and typically have loose skin or wrinkles that cannot be addressed with non-surgical options.
