WHAT TO EXPECT FROM GYNECOMASTIA SURGERY

During gynecomastia surgery, Dr. Stile will pair surgical breast tissue excision with liposuction. He’ll make an incision around the areola (the tiny ring of pigmented skin around your nipples). Next, Dr. Stile will remove dense breast tissue and excess fat, leaving you with a smooth contour. While you may notice results immediately, they’ll continue to gradually improve over the next three months. In about 6 to 12 months, your skin will tighten and you’ll develop a new chest shape.

After the procedure, your chest will be bandaged and Dr. Stile will ask you to always wear a compression garment. He’ll request that you request and keep your upper body movement to a minimum for at least 3 days. Depending on the nature of your job, you can resume work in 7 to 10 days. You can also return to a low-impact workout routine in 2 to 3 weeks.

Your results will be long lasting, as long as you lead a healthy lifestyle and maintain a stable weight. However, it is important to note that gynecomastia surgery can not reverse loose skin and other natural signs of aging.

GOOD CANDIDATES FOR MALE BREAST REDUCTION

If you have gynecomastia and are at or near your goal weight, you may be a good candidate for gynecomastia surgery. You should also have good skin elasticity as well excessive breast tissue that does not fade away with diet and exercise. If you show interest in male reduction surgery, Dr. Stile will conduct a thorough exam to make sure you have gynecomastia instead of another medical condition.
