Blepharoplasty Las Vegas

Even after a good night’s sleep, you may appear tired. This is a common aging concern and usually the result of loose skin over your yee and fat bags below them. Fortunately, this tired-eye look can be resolved through a procedure called a blepharoplasty.

Also known as eyelid surgery, blepharoplasty can address the loose fold of skin on your upper eyelids and deep creases on your lower lids. Keep reading to learn more about how a blepharoplasty works.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A BLEPHAROPLASTY

During a blepharoplasty, Dr. Stile will place an incision in the crease above each of your eyes to resolve any upper eyelid issues. Then, he’ll remove any excess skin and close the incisions with very fine sutures. To remove the fatty deposits beneath your eyes, Dr. Stile will make incisions just under each of your eyelashes. The procedure will likely last anywhere between one to two hours and be performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the specifics of your procedure.

BLEPHAROPLASTY RECOVERY

After eyelid surgery, your eye area will likely be bruised and swollen for a few weeks. Fortunately, you can wear makeup to conceal these side effects during the healing process. You’ll likely be able to return to work and social activities within 8 to 10 days. Many patients report minimal pain following the procedure. They state that the results make the side effects well worth it.

GOOD CANDIDATES FOR BLEPHAROPLASTY

Blepharoplasty is a good option if you’re a man or woman in reasonably good health and are bothered by eyes that are hidden by excess tissue in your upper and lower eyelids. Dr. Stile may recommend this procedure if you desire brighter eyes that help you appear vibrant and youthful.

He will discourage eyelid surgery, however, if you’re living with dry eyes, glaucoma, diabetes, heart disease, or hypothyroidism. In most cases, blepharoplasty patients are over the age of 35 but younger individuals with droopy, baggy eyelids may benefit from this procedure as well.
