How to Prepare for a Mommy Makeover

Mommy Makeover Las Vegas

Do you love being a mother but not necessarily what the process has done to your body? Drooping breasts, loose skin, and stubborn fat can affect self-confidence and hold you back from things you enjoy. A mommy makeover combines several procedures to restore your sculpted, slimmer pre-baby body.

WHAT IS A MOMMY MAKEOVER?

Pregnancy affects many parts of your body. Having each one corrected individually would require more surgeries and recovery time. Fortunately, a mommy makeover combines these procedures into one surgery. Each mommy makeover is customized to address your concerns and help you feel confident about your body again.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A MOMMY MAKEOVER

Dr. Stile will provide you with instructions to follow in the weeks before your mommy makeover. These may include stopping certain medications or supplements, avoiding alcohol, and stopping smoking. You can also take several steps to make your recovery more comfortable:

ENLIST HELP

Your movement will be limited for the first few days of your mommy makeover, especially your ability to lift things. Having someone to help for the first day or two can make you much more comfortable. Consider childcare needs if you have small children.

SCHEDULE TIME OFF

Some people take less time off than they need, hoping to return to work sooner. Your body needs time to recover, so give yourself and your work a reasonable estimate of when you expect to be back and do not try to rush your healing.

PREPARE MEALS

You may not feel like cooking in the days after surgery. Preparing and freezing healthy, nutritious meals ensures your body has everything it needs to heal. It will also help you avoid the trap of easy but non-nutritious snack foods when you do not feel up to cooking.

CHOOSE CLOTHES

Find your most comfortable, loose-fitting clothes to wear after your mommy makeover. You may have difficulty pulling things over your head, so tops that fasten in the front are ideal. You should also avoid tight pants that will stress a tummy tuck incision.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A MOMMY MAKEOVER?

A mommy makeover typically includes tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and breast enhancement. Combining procedures does not increase your recovery time. Your surgery may also include liposuction, an arm or thigh lift, labiaplasty, or non-surgical procedures.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR A MOMMY MAKEOVER?

A mommy makeover is designed to help women who are bothered by the changes pregnancy has caused to their bodies. Good candidates should be healthy and have reasonable expectations. Candidates should wait six months to a year after their last pregnancy before their mommy makeover.
