How Much is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser Hair Removal Las Vegas

The costs of shaving, waxing, and other hair removal methods can add up. People invest not only money but many hours of time removing unwanted hair on the face and body. For those who want to break free of the hair cycle, laser hair removal can put an end to those hours spent in temporary methods.

HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?

Laser hair removal works because most hair contains melanin, a pigment that makes it darker. When the Nd:YAG laser sends energy into the skin, the skin cells remain untouched, but the roots of the hair absorb the energy and heat up. This not only damages the root of the hair, but it deactivates the follicle with the hair root inside it. These hair follicles will no longer grow hair after they have been treated. This method of hair removal works on the face, legs, chest, arms, back, and numerous other areas of the body.

HOW MUCH IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

The average cost of laser hair removal varies greatly depending on your location, provider, treatment area size, and the type of equipment used. At Stile Aesthetics, laser hair removal starts at $140 for treating the legs. Your total cost will depend on the treatment areas and how many sessions are needed. A consultation with Dr. Stile will determine a more accurate estimate.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Each person will need a different number of sessions, depending on the size of the area being treated as well as their individual pattern of hair growth. Hair goes through resting and active hair growth cycles, and resting follicles have no hair root for the laser to target. Only active follicles will be treated during each session, but new ones will have become active by the next session. You will need enough sessions that all hair-producing follicles have been treated.

HOW LONG DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL LAST?

Laser hair removal can be considered semi-permanent. After several months, you may start to see some hair regrowth. The hair that returns will look and feel finer, softer, and more sparse than before, making maintenance much more manageable.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME AFTER LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

You may notice some redness and soreness that resembles a sunburn. This usually only lasts a day or two. Wearing sunscreen and avoiding the sun will help you protect your healing skin. You should not use harsh or abrasive skincare products on the treated area for several days.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

Most people can receive laser hair removal. You may not be able to have laser hair removal if you have very light, white, or bleached hair since this will not absorb energy from the laser. Our laser allows us to treat people with darker skin than many other lasers, making treatment available to more people.
