Eyelid Lift Las Vegas

As we age, the skin around our eyes can begin to sag and droop, creating a tired or aged appearance. In some cases, excess skin and fat can even obstruct vision. An eyelid lift can restore a more youthful and rested appearance to the eyes while also improving the field of vision.

WHAT IS AN EYELID LIFT (BLEPHAROPLASTY)?

An eyelid lift is a surgical procedure that aims to improve the appearance of the eyelids by removing excess skin and fat. Also known as blepharoplasty, the procedure can be performed on the upper eyelids or lower eyelids, or both, depending on the patient’s needs.

Eyelid surgery is an outpatient procedure performed with general or local anesthesia. Depending on your unique procedure, Dr. Stile may make incisions within the natural crease of the eyelid or the lower lash line. He then removes excess fat and skin to create a smoother, more lifted appearance. The surgery typically takes up to two hours.

WHAT IS RECOVERY LIKE AFTER BLEPHAROPLASTY?

Each patient’s recovery after blepharoplasty will vary based on their unique procedure and health. You can expect some swelling, bruising, and discomfort around the eyes for the first week or two following the surgery.

Dr. Stile will instruct you on using ice packs, pain medication, and eye drops as needed. He may also recommend sleeping with your head elevated and not wearing contact lenses for a week. Carefully following your surgeon’s post-operative instructions is essential for a smooth, safe recovery.

Most patients can return to work and normal activities within one week. However, it may take several weeks for the swelling to subside fully and for the final results of the procedure to become apparent. The majority of visible swelling will be gone after two weeks, and you can resume exercise at this point.

EYELID LIFT RESULTS

As swelling and bruising fade, you’ll enjoy improvements from eyelid surgery within a couple of weeks. Full results are typically visible after six months. If you had an upper eyelid lift, the results should last several years, while lower blepharoplasty can last a lifetime.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR EYELID SURGERY?

If you’re an overall healthy non-smoker with realistic expectations and want to improve your eye area’s appearance, you’re probably a good candidate for eyelid surgery. This procedure can also be combined with a facelift or brow lift for optimal rejuvenation. Blepharoplasty may be beneficial if you have:

  • Droopy eyelids
  • Hooded or down-turned eyelids
  • Excess skin, sagging, and wrinkles around your eyes
  • Under-eye bags or dark circles
  • Puffiness
  • Obstructed vision from drooping eyelids
