How Long Does a Breast Lift Last?

Breast Lift Las Vegas

Sagging breasts are a concern for many women, whether caused by age, pregnancy, or weight changes. Dr. Stile can skillfully perform a breast lift to effectively restore your breasts to their ideal position and help you regain a more youthful appearance.

HOW DOES A BREAST LIFT WORK?

Also known as mastopexy, a breast lift surgery raises sagging breasts back to a higher, more youthful position. Dr. Stile may also raise the nipples if necessary and reduce the size of the areola for a more aesthetic breast shape and appearance.

Various factors can cause drooping breasts, such as pregnancy and breastfeeding, weight loss or gain, and the inevitable effects of gravity and age. Women may choose to undergo additional procedures, such as breast augmentation, at the same time to enhance breast volume and shape.

BREAST LIFT BENEFITS

A breast lift restores the breasts’ perkiness and produces a more youthful, aesthetic appearance. Mastopexy does not alter breast size but reshapes the breasts for improved symmetry and contour.

You’ll likely see immediate results after a breast lift, which will become more apparent as the swelling subsides over the next few weeks. The results of a breast lift will likely last for several years. The natural aging process can still affect your breasts over time, but a breast lift can help minimize and slow this decline. You may choose to have a second breast lift procedure later on to maintain your results.

BREAST LIFT PROCEDURE AND RECOVERY

Dr. Stile will perform the breast lift under general anesthesia, and the procedure will take a few hours. He will make incisions around the areolas, downward from the areolas, or horizontally along the breast creases depending on your aesthetic goals. No matter which method he uses, Dr. Stile will make the incisions carefully to limit scarring.

After the surgery, your breasts will be bandaged, and you will need to wear a surgical support bra. Recovery after a breast lift will take several weeks, but you should be able to return to work within approximately two weeks. Any pain and swelling should fade after a month or so. You will need to avoid bending, straining, and lifting for 48 hours after the procedure.
