Aging causes a loss of collagen, letting the skin start to sag and wrinkle. At the same time, areas like the cheeks may lose fat and look hollow. Dermal fillers can restore lost volume and smooth away wrinkles. It can also enhance features such as the lips to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?

Dermal fillers are body-safe materials injected into the face or other parts of the body to enhance and add volume. Dermal fillers come in many formulas, so the team at Stile Aesthetics can use the right one for you. You can have dermal fillers in almost every part of your face to add shape, volume, and contours, as well as get rid of lines and wrinkles.

HOW LONG DO DERMAL FILLERS LAST?

The most popular type of dermal filler uses hyaluronic acid, a molecule already found in the skin. These fillers last from six months to a year, with a few formulas lasting up to eighteen months. Other types of fillers can last two years or more. Stile Aesthetics offers several of the most popular dermal filler materials to give you more options.

WHAT TYPES OF DERMAL FILLERS ARE AVAILABLE?

Dermal fillers use materials that have little to no risk of causing an adverse reaction in the body. We offer the following types of fillers:

RESTYLANE®

This family of dermal fillers uses hyaluronic acid, a molecule that draws moisture into the skin. Different formulations can be used in the lips, cheeks, lines and wrinkles, and other areas.

JUVEDERM®

This dermal filler family also uses hyaluronic acid in a variety of formulations. These can improve the appearance of facial features and deep wrinkles such as nasolabial folds.

RADIESSE®

This dermal filler uses calcium hydroxyapatite, a material found in bones and teeth. It comes in microspheres suspended in a soft gel, suitable for deep lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.

SCULPTRA®

Unlike other fillers, this one uses a collagen stimulator called poly-L-lactic acid. It does not add immediate volume, but it triggers collagen development. Over time, the increased collagen will provide natural fullness and volume.

WHERE CAN DERMAL FILLERS BE USED?

Dermal fillers work in many parts of the face. The most popular areas include:

  • Cheeks
  • Lips
  • Nasolabial folds (creases between the nose and mouth)
  • Lines around the mouth
  • Other lines and wrinkles

Dermal fillers work well with many other treatments, including other injectables like Botox®.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR DERMAL FILLERS?

Dermal fillers are safe for almost anyone. The chances of an adverse reaction are very low. The hyaluronic acid fillers can even be removed using an enzyme that breaks down the material if you do not like your results.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME WITH DERMAL FILLERS?

You can go back to your usual activities after getting dermal fillers. You might notice some bruising or swelling that lasts a day or two. Many people have dermal filler treatment and immediately go back to work or other activities.
