Brazilian Butt Lift After-Care Information
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, over 24,000 buttock augmentations have been performed in 2018 alone and the procedure saw a nineteen percent growth rate (1). Gluteoplasty, more commonly known as a “Brazilian Butt Lift,” is a procedure aimed at improving the image of a patient’s buttocks with the use of the patient’s own fat often harvested through a liposuction procedure from areas like the thighs, arms, back and/or the abdomen. The fat from the suctioned areas is then filled into ten to twenty
60 mL syringes. These are then injected into the buttocks to create a rounder fuller rear. Patients are asked to wear a support – shaping – compression garment following their surgery for up to one month which allows for uniform compression of the buttocks.
